Music videos and animation

This is a music video for a metal band called Killswitch Engage. This video, directed by Jim Starace, was done using claymation and involved turning the band members into modelling clay characters. The guitarist said that they chose to do this video because they'd always wanted to make a video that didn't directly feature them, and 'who doesn't like claymation and space aliens?'

A lot of music artists do decide to use animation in their music videos, as it allows the "band members"to experience interesting, magical or otherworldly experiences that they wouldn't be allowed to experience in real life obviously. It makes for an interesting and unique video.
